Not posted for a while but something happened last week that really p me off.Put my recycling bin out and the cheeky b's opened the lid and were rummaging through it.I did not see it otherwise I would have been straight out there.Anyway the bin was returned with a warning sticker on it saying I was putting the wrong waste in the bin.I phoned the council and the collectors had reported me for putting milk cartons and yogurt pots in (and possibly a little garden rubbish).As these are plastic I thought these items were acceptable.The guy at the council was very abrupt and said 'READ THE STICKER" I was also warned that I could be fined if I did it again. I told the guy that as far as the law was concerned I didnt know recycling was compulsory and if that was his attitude he could take my bin away.Am I rght that this is a voluntary system.Not to mention the rest of the contents of the bin which the council get for free and flog on.Can i refuse to recycle?any advice from someone in the know would be great.thanks
